Happy Vernal (Spring) Equinox! Equal day and light here in the northern hemisphere with the promise of light to come; each day getting more and more light. A day of refreshing, grounding and celebrating. I like to view winter as hibernation or death of a cycle. It's a time to rest, rejuvenate and ruminate on the previous cycle.
When we look at the cycle of the seasons, Spring as birth, or new life. And yet, setting New Year's Eve resolutions is a common practice. Spring is the perfect time to launch something in your life, like coming out of the cocoon after a long pause to spread your wings. The wings may not be strong, yet this is only the beginning.
I am so excited to announce that I will be returning to teach group classes and workshops this
Spring. More information to come on how and where I came to this decision and how you can meet me on your mat.
And of course if you came here for journal prompts and rituals for this beautiful day, keep on scrolling.❤️
Rituals:
Spring cleaning is one of those rituals that seeps into mainstream culture. It's a wonderful habit to freshen up one's living space and call in the fresh newness of the season. Deep cleaning isn't something I'll be doing today but freshening up my space and letting in fresh air, vacuuming and dusting while playing music. Maybe there's one thing in your space you've been meaning to toss, NOW is the time. Taking time to meditate and move your body outside. Walking, running, or laying in the grass. Eating foods that are abundant in season as well as enjoying the later sunset are all rituals to connect to this season change.
After meditating I love to journal to reflect and set goals for the coming cycle after following the prompts below.
Journal Prompts:
What has been feeling heavy lately?
Do you feel rested? Where can you find more if needed?
What feels like it's healing? What needs more attention?
Where do feel balance? Where are you craving balance?
What's one thing you want to accomplish this Spring?
What's something you'e proud of that you have done lately?
What do you want to feel?
Are you feeling enough joy in your life? If not where can you find more joy? (If this is hard make a joylist and mark off an item weekly)
Why is this world better with you in it?
Happy Vernal Equinox.
